The Student Council of Korea University's Department of Political Science and International Relations
The Student Council of the Department of Political Science and International Relations/Political Science and Economics Class 1 at Korea University is a self-governing student community with a history of democratic student autonomy. All students in the department automatically become equal members upon admission, with the rights and obligations to participate in decision-making and execution within the department based on self-governance.
The Executive Committee of the Department of Political Science and International Relations primarily conducts various activities, including welcoming new students, welfare projects, human rights and solidarity projects, educational rights projects, and exchange programs. The welcoming projects include the Freshman Orientation, the Admission Ceremony (New Student OT), the Pre-University Program, the Social Solidarity Learning Program, and the Self-Governing Organizations Week. Welfare projects include twice-a-semester snack events, cultural events, and the activation of small groups. Human rights and solidarity projects involve activities such as farmer-student solidarity, commemorative projects for the Sewol Ferry disaster, participation in the April 18 National Salvation March, May Day solidarity, May 18 commemorative events, Human Rights Week, and solidarity with various social organizations and marginalized groups. Educational rights-related activities include regular surveys on educational rights violations, comprehensive educational rights surveys, and meetings with the department head. Lastly, exchange-related activities include collaborative projects with the Student Council of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Yonsei University, such as the Mini Korea-Yonsei Games, monthly exchange events, and more. Additionally, the student council organizes festival pubs, semester opening and closing parties, and maintenance of department facilities.

Sanho, the Political Philosophy Society
Established in 1994, Sanho selects a new topic in political philosophy each semester, creates study materials, holds regular seminars, and engages in insightful discussions and debates on political philosophy.
Takshanggongron, the Social Science Society
Founded in 1993, Takshanggongron regularly holds seminars to discuss and find solutions to social issues, promoting free exchange of comprehensive discussions and opinions.
BEYOND, the International Politics Society
"THINK BEYOND, ACT BEYOND, extending Korea University's reach to the world." Established in 1999, BEYOND researches and discusses various current international political issues, holding seminars and various exchange programs.
Jungbeop Research Society
The Jungbeop Research Society is a law society where students interested in legal studies and careers in law gather to conduct regular seminars and study law together.
Daho, the Soccer Club
Daho participates in the Politics Cup, the Mini Korea-Yonsei Games, and university soccer tournaments, holding regular friendly matches every month.
Special Committees serve specific purposes necessary for the operation of the Student Council of Political Science and International Relations. There are permanent special committees such as the Mock National Assembly Preparation Committee and the Gender Equality Committee, as well as temporary special committees like the Mock Trial Preparation Committee.
Mock National Assembly Preparation Committee
The committee prepares for the "Anam Mock National Assembly," the oldest and most prestigious mock national assembly in Korea, aiming to create a platform for constructive criticism and creative alternatives for real-world politics as political science students. The mock national assembly is held annually in September after a year of preparation, addressing domestic political issues through an academic play format.
Gender Equality Committee
The Gender Equality Committee aims to create a gender-equal culture within the Student Council of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, ensuring the realization of rights free from gender discrimination, protection of the rights of sexual minorities, and practical solutions to issues of sexual violence and discrimination in students' daily lives.
Mock Trial Preparation Committee
"A light but profound exploration and discussion of law." The Mock Trial Preparation Committee organizes the annual mock trial, conducting regular seminars and studies, presenting core societal issues in a theatrical format.
