Departmental Scholarships
Samgu Political Science and International Relations Scholarship (Woodang Scholarship)
This scholarship is funded by Mr. Park Jong-koo, Chairman of Samgu Co., who graduated from the department in 1971. Since 2012, the department has been awarding the Woodang Scholarship to undergraduate students. The scholarship aims to support students who exhibit leadership qualities, outstanding academic performance, exemplary behavior, or financial need, providing them with financial assistance to excel in their studies and plan for their future.
Light-Up Political Science and International Relations Class of ’63 Scholarship Fund
This fund was established by alumni from the class of 1963 to support students with a commitment to making a positive impact on society and possessing excellent character. The fund supports scholarships for outstanding students, as well as for children of teachers, and will start providing scholarships from 2024.
Political Science and International Relations Alumni Scholarship Fund
In addition to the Light-Up Scholarship Fund, alumni from the department have established various scholarship funds to support current students. Recent contributions include:
- 1. Class of ’90 Scholarship Fund: Established in 2016 by alumni from the class of 1990 to provide financial support for living expenses. This scholarship can be received in conjunction with other scholarships.
- 2. Class of ’91 Scholarship Fund: Created in 2015 by alumni from the class of 1991 to offer financial support for living expenses. This scholarship can also be combined with other scholarships.
- 3. Class of ’93 Scholarship Fund: Funded by alumni from the class of 1993, this scholarship has been providing financial support for living expenses since 2019.
- 4. Class of ’96 20th Anniversary Scholarship Fund: Established by the class of 1996 to celebrate their 20th anniversary. This fund provides financial support for living expenses.
College of Political Science and Economics and Korea University Scholarships
The College of Political Science and Ecnomics and Korea University offer numerous scholarships funded through donations. These scholarships provide support for tuition or living expenses to selected students. Additionally, there are various external scholarships announced regularly.
